Summer Reading 2022 — The Great Outdoors

Summer is almost here and the great outdoors are calling! Join us for our Summer Reading Program from June 11th to August 19th. This summer we will have reading logs, events, and storytimes in celebration of our theme: The Great Outdoors. 

 

Summer Reading Program

 

Track your reading and earn badges this summer with our reading logs. We will have reading logs for Kids, Teens, and Adults, as well as an early literacy calendar for babies and toddlers. You can pick up a Summer Adventure Kit containing a paper reading log and other goodies starting June 11th. You can also track your progress through the READsquared website or app. 

 

For every 150 minutes read, teens and kids will earn a button. You can pick up a Summer Adventure Kit containing a paper reading log and other goodies starting June 11th. You can also track your progress through the READsquared website or app. The charities this summer will be the Laramie Audubon Society, the Medicine Bow Nordic Association, the Pilot Hill Project, and Rooted in Laramie. Go all-in on your favorite charity, or vote for each of them!

The Adventure Starts Here

Kick-off summer reading with us on June 11th from 10 a.m. to noon. Join us for games, crafts, and snacks, and pick up a Summer Adventure Kit with a reading log, goodies, and a free book!

 

Afternoon Adventure

Every Tuesday at 1 p.m. from June 14-July 30, kids and their families can go with us on a new adventure each week. Some exciting events include a Talon Talk with real raptors on June 28, a magician on July 19th, and a foam party on July 30th.  

 

There will be no activities the week of July 4th.

 

Book Babies

Babies and Toddlers ages 0-2 and their caregivers can join us Tuesdays at 10 a.m. for a storytime designed just for them. Introduce your child to the basics of literacy and foster a love of reading!

Saturday Storytimes

Families can join Robyn for storytimes and activities Saturdays at 10:30 a.m.

 

YAK

Teens can join us for a new activity every Thursday from 3:45 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Activities include escape rooms, crafts, and games. 

 

Stories @ the Parks

Join us every week for an outdoor storytime. Stick around afterward to visit our brand new Bookmobile!

 

  • Tuesday, 10 a.m: Scout Park
  • Wednesday, 10 a.m: Washington Park (near the playground)
  • Thursday, 10 a.m: Library Garden (south side of the public library)
