The infrastructure project is thanks to generous grant funding from the Wyoming Library Multi-Purpose Community Facility Program. The Wyoming Library Multi-Purpose Community Facility Program (WLMCF) is funded by a grant to the State of Wyoming through the U.S. Department of the Treasury Coronavirus Capital Projects Fund (CPF).

Special thanks to ACPL's other financial supporters on the project: Albany County 1% Optional Funds, the Albany County Recreation Board, and the ACPL Foundation.

Construction Update: Week of April 14-18

  • Construction Corner: Text Reads - Exciting News! ACPL is holding a construction character naming contest. Help us find the perfect name for our Activity Center construction mascots: Bison, Duck, and 3 Jackalopes. Submit your ideas for names by May 10. Stop by the library (right inside the entrance) to submit a form. Or go online to submit: acplwy.org/construction-character-naming-contest. Voting on the best names will start May 11!
  • Photos of Activity Center construction. Text reads: Taking Shape - The Activity Center is moving along! This week, the concrete floor was poured in the exterior storage area, shown above. This space will increase storage for our Youth Services team and give us a small garage area to park the library’s ATV that is used for snow removal.

Follow Along with Construction: Past Weeks

  • Photos of meeting room during construction project. Text reads: Framing - The wall framing for the entrance, storage closet, and kitchenette went up this week. Plus, a portion of the HVAC system was installed. The kitchenette will have a sliding service window and the storage closet will have a garage door to allow easy access to tables and chairs.
  • Photos of Conference Room during construction. Text reads: Construction is rolling in Space #3! Watch your step when shopping the Book Nook. Looking Up: Construction in the Conference Room is currently focused on the ceiling. The main part of construction in this space is expanding the room. To do so, the construction crew is examining the ceiling and support system for when the cinder block/brick wall is removed.
  • Photos of front entrance during construction Text reads: Go away snow. We want to pour concrete. Progress on the main entrance continues. This week, the crew painstakingly removed the original quarry tile from the concrete slab by the remaining set of front doors. With all the necessary concrete removed from the Activity Center and front entrance, ARCON can start pouring fresh concrete slabs in the spaces.
  • Photos of front entrance renovation. Text in graphic notes: At the front entrance, the majority of the concrete pad has been removed. The construction crew has also removed the old tile that was the old lobby floor. Plumbing for the new single-user bathroom has been installed. A portion of the exterior brick has been removed. This will be the new public entrance to the Meeting Room.
  • Photo of meeting room renovation. Text in graphic notes: It’s been fairly noisy these past few weeks at ACPL. Behind the scenes, the construction crew has trenched the plumbing path for the Meeting Room kitchenette and new single-user bathroom in the lobby.
  • Photo of front entrance renovation. Text in graphic notes: The concrete floor has almost all been removed from the front entrance area. A new floor will be poured during the project. You can also see the start of removing the brick wall to construct the new public entrance to the ACPL meeting room.

  • Photos of wall going up in meeting room. Text in graphic notes: ACPL’s old, moveable wall between the Meeting Room and staff offices was removed and replaced with a permanent wall. This will help with sound issues in the meeting room and provide a better working environment for staff.

  • Text in graphic says ACPL Construction Corner. Meeting Room. So far... ACPL's Meeting Room has gone through the demolition phase. Goodbye old & stained carpet! What's next? The Meeting Room will be used for storage/staging while the crew works on other areas. Three photos depict the meeting room in its current state from various angles. There are lights hanging from the ceiling. There are ladders and pallets throughout. There are metal beams along the walls framing new walls. There is an uncarpeted floor that looks like it may be concrete with carpet glue.
  • Text in graphic says ACPL Construction Corner. Activity Center. So far... There has been a lot of activity on the front of the building for the future home of the Activity Center. What's next? More exterior work. Using the Temporary Entrance

The temporary entrance is located on the south side of the Laramie Branch behind the blue book drop. Look for the "Enter Here" sign and the ramp to guide you. Parking is available in the two south parking lots. Watch the video to see how to enter!
